“Embarking on the 200-hour yoga teacher training (YTT) at Mother Yoga was one of the best decisions I’ve made for myself. I went into YTT expecting to mainly focus on my physical practice. However, the training turned out to be about so much more... The physical practice was just a small part of the journey. YTT turned out to be much more about spiritual and emotional growth. After all, that is what yoga is about, and our physical practice is simply one of the many tools in yoga.”
Meet the Teachers
Nancy Nomellini
Philosophy & Creative Sequencing
"I started this practice searching for a way out of the darkness that eventually turned into a life of service. Growing up in a household filled with eastern philosophy, like most kids, I didn't want anything to do with it! It's funny how everything eventually leads you right back home. The physical practice of yoga really guided me through many difficult parts of my journey. The body and breath became a refuge. I began to really trust in the inner wisdom of myself and am still finding out more ways to express that creative spirit everyday!
Nancy is celebrated for her uplifting , creative and soulful teachings. Her classes are thoughtful, transformative and spiritually charged! She weaves in the dharma of yogic philosophy throughout her dynamic and creatively sequencing classes.
Audra
ANATOMY
Audra is an internationally known teacher of yoga, meditation, and philosophy. A dedicated practitioner and student of both Yoga and Buddhism, Audra brings delight, humor, compassion, levity, love, and a multi-faith perspective to her classes. The physical practice is an invitation into flow, where students have the opportunity to drop into vastness and connect with the largeness that exists both inside and outside of themselves.
As a dharma and meditation teacher, Audra weaves the esoteric teachings seamlessly with the personal, inspiring students to take the two wings of practice-- wisdom and compassion--into the simple moments that make up the content of their daily lives.

Audra earned her Masters degree in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University Santa Barbara, and is certified as a meditation and mindfulness teacher with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. Audra has her certification in Applied Polyvagal Theory in Yoga levels 1-3 from The Embody Lab. And is certified in Somatic EMDR.

Valerie Starr
AYURVEDA & NUTRITION
My name is Valerie Starr. I am obsessed with yoga. I love it because it’s a part of my healing process, a big piece of my creativity, my passion, my flame, my spirit. I love experiencing the capacity in which we can move our bodies and connect with breath as a spirit ritual.

To me, yoga is about creating space and unraveling the tangles in our body and mind, bringing clarity to the things that get out of focus, and deepening the relationship with self. Yoga is being with the crazy, complicated, playful, and joyful aspects of ourselves and loving them all the same.
